I received this very profound article and want to share it will everyone, it is written by
Eve Ensler, the American playwright, performer, feminist and activist best known for "The Vagina Monologues", wrote the following about Sarah Palin:
Drill, Drill, Drill
I am having Sarah Palin nightmares. I dreamt last night that she was a member of a club where they rode snowmobiles and wore the claws of drowned and starved polar bears around their necks. I have a particular thing for Polar Bears. Maybe it's their snowy whiteness or their bigness or the fact that they live in the arctic or that I have never seen one in person or touched one. Maybe it is the fact that they live so comfortably on ice. Whatever it is, I need the polar bears.
I don't like raging at women. I am a Feminist and have spent my life trying to build community, help empower women and stop violence against them. It is hard to write about Sarah Palin. This is why the Sarah Palin choice was all the more insidious and cynical. The people who made this choice count on the goodness and solidarity of Feminists.
But everything Sarah Palin believes in and practices is antithetical to Feminism which for me is part of one story -- connected to saving the earth, ending racism, empowering women, giving young girls options, opening our minds, deepening tolerance, and ending violence and war.
I believe that the McCain/Palin ticket is one of the most dangerous choices of my lifetime, and should this country chose those candidates the fall-out may be so great, the destruction so vast in so many areas that America may never recover. But what is equally disturbing is the impact that duo would have on the rest of the world. Unfortunately, this is not a joke. In my lifetime I have seen the clownish, the inept, the bizarre be elected to the presidency with regularity.
Sarah Palin does not believe in evolution. I take this as a metaphor. In her world and the world of Fundamentalists nothing changes or gets better or evolves. She does not believe in global warming. The melting of the arctic, the storms that are destroying our cities, the pollution and rise of cancers, are all part of God's plan. She is fighting to take the polar bears off the endangered species list. The earth, in Palin's view, is here to be taken and plundered. The wolves and the bears are here to be shot and plundered. The oil is here to be taken and plundered. Iraq is here to be taken and plundered. As she said herself of the Iraqi war, "It was a task from God."
Sarah Palin does not believe in abortion. She does not believe women who are raped and incested and ripped open against their will should have a right to determine whether they have their rapist's baby or not.
She obviously does not believe in sex education or birth control. I imagine her daughter was practicing abstinence and we know how many babies that makes.
Sarah Palin does not much believe in thinking. From what I gather she has tried to ban books from the library, has a tendency to dispense with people who think independently. She cannot tolerate an environment of ambiguity and difference. This is a woman who could and might very well be the next president of the United States. She would govern one of the most diverse populations on the earth.
Sarah believes in guns. She has her own custom Austrian hunting rifle. She has been known to kill 40 caribou at a clip. She has shot hundreds of wolves from the air.
Sarah believes in God. That is of course her right, her private right. But when God and Guns come together in the public sector, when war is declared in God's name, when the rights of women are denied in his name, that is the end of separation of church and state and the undoing of everything America has ever tried to be.
I write to my sisters. I write because I believe we hold this election in our hands. This vote is a vote that will determine the future not just of the U.S., but of the planet. It will determine whether we create policies to save the earth or make it forever uninhabitable for humans. It will determine whether we move towards dialogue and diplomacy in the world or whether we escalate violence through invasion, undermining and attack. It will determine whether we go for oil, strip mining, coal burning or invest our money in alternatives that will free us from dependency and destruction. It will determine if money gets spent on education and healthcare or whether we build more and more methods of killing. It will determine whether America is a free open tolerant society or a closed place of fear, fundamentalism and aggression.
If the Polar Bears don't move you to go and do everything in your power to get Obama elected then consider the chant that filled the hall after Palin spoke at the RNC, "Drill Drill Drill." I think of teeth when I think of drills. I think of rape. I think of destruction. I think of domination. I think of military exercises that force mindless repetition, emptying the brain of analysis, doubt, ambiguity or dissent. I think of pain.
Do we want a future of drilling? More holes in the ozone, in the floor of the sea, more holes in our thinking, in the trust between nations and peoples, more holes in the fabric of this precious thing we call life?

Finally a Weekend with PayMyMom.com
I am so glad that the weekend is here!
I am looking forward to a pool party, Brian Wilson at the Hollywood Bowl and on Sunday 9 am pst my buddy Joe Grushkin is starring in his first radio show all about the laws of attraction! you can catch him at joelive.tv!
Jared had another pink eye relapse Wednesday evening and so he has been home for two days. Yesterday was spent going to the doctors, pharmacy (I gave up on the homeopathic for this one) and acupuncturist for me. Between that and trying to get work done, I was exhausted. Today was a little easier and did get work done, yeah! but having to deal with a child who only wants to watch TV and play on the computer because in his words "I am too sick to do my homework" AAAHHH!
Right at this moment there is silence, he is in his room reading - yes homework!

Prepping for School with PayMyMom.com
Well here it is the last day before school starts!!! Jared is now a 5th Grader and the BMOC!!!
I am now gearing up for school mode, waking up earlier to get him to school, get the homework done right when we get home, etc.
I am also getting my business going full steam ahead. Having a Stay at Home Business takes a lot of discipline to do the work at my desk instead of cleaning the house or chatting with the friends. My goal is to spend from 8:30 am - 1:00pm at my desk and I have told my friends this is my work time and not to call me until after 1:00, it has been a little hard for some of them, but on a whole they are respecting my wishes and I am getting the work done!
PayMyMom.com is going all the way and will be known through out the internet this month!!!
so go to PayMyMom.com and join me for a Fun and Fabulous Time!!!

ChezWhat?: What do you do with a pregnant teacher?
ChezWhat?: What do you do with a pregnant teacher?
Hi,
I chose to stay home and raise my son too, it was very important to me to be the one raising him and not a caregiver. It created such a great bond between us and it is such a special time because they change and grow everyday! and I was there to feed to him, rock him to sleep and was the one he wakes up to and read to him and played with him through out the day. Studies show that a child is mentally and emotionally farther ahead than those who are raised by child care and my child is now entering 5th grade and in the gifted program, he loves to read and enjoys learning!
What to do when you are home with the children I can answer!!!!
Work from Home!!! I started a business called PayMyMom.com and it as given me an additional income that far reaches any other online business that I could find and I biz tested a lot of them. I am able to take care of my son and work at the biz during school, a friend works while her baby sleeps, she loves it too!
Good Luck and enjoy the Baby!

Donna Summers Concert with PayMyMom.com
Last night I attend the Donna Summers Concert at the Hollywood Bowl... and she was Fabulous!!!! She sang most of her oldies "Last Dance", "She Works Hard for the Money", "Bad Girl" and "On the Radio" and we danced to them all from the very last row at the Hollywood Bowl. Her concert sold out so fast that we were lucky to get the seats we got!
The shuttle bus that I took up was running late and concert started while I was walking in, I decided I needed to see her up close before taking my trek to the top, so I went my secret back route and found a break in the bushes that had the perfect view! There were a few others there watching and dancing too! After the third song, I decided I had to join my party of friends and I took the hike my seat. I squished in between all of the people there, but who cares... it's Donna Summers! and we were up dancing for most of it anyway!!! What A Show!!!!
She also sang song from her new album and they are Fabulous!!!!

Sing-a-long to the 80's with PayMyMom.com
This weekend my friend Janet called me up to invite me to Sing-a-long to the 80's at the Music Center. What an amazing time we had singing to Madonna, Berlin, Pat Benatar, etc.
and it was FREE to attend! I have found that there are Fun, Interesting and Cultural things to do all around this beautiful city of ours and all for free. The Music center, museums and even the Hollywood bowl and more all offer free events for their patrons that are fun to join that stimulate your creativity and imagination. For Instance this weekend the Music center is offering
Salsa and Chacha night, where they will teach you these dances and then you can stay and dance the rest of the evening. At the Hollywood Bowl you can attend the rehersals for the show that will be seen that night, One morning I got to see Tony Bennett and Diane Kraul and the best part is you are sitting really close to the stage, so you can even see the strings on the violins!
I have found all of these events available through the local newspapers and websites so
Check out what is available in your area and have FUN!!!
